To help ease you through the sparkly selection we have on offer we have collected our 5 favourite gifts to give this Christmas – because here at Shetland jewellery we believe everybody deserves a little sparkle!

1 – Keeping it classic

Our traditional Three Nornes collection is a no brainer when it comes to picking the out perfect piece. The Three Nornes pieces were designed by Jack Rae himself in the late 1950’s and have remained one of our most popular ranges ever since. The designs are based off of Norse Mythology and represents the past, present and future which is all encapsulated in a range or timeless designs - fitting for any occasion.

2- Santa baby, forgot one little thing … a ring , I don’t mean on the phone

Our make your own silver ring workshops are the perfect gift that doubles as an amazing experience which you can now purchase in a voucher form.

Each space on our workshops gives you the chance to be a jeweller for the day and make your own set of 3 or 4 silver stacking rings from start to finish.  With a wide range of example rings you can choose your very own set to match your own style - which can include different textured finishes, motifs and even a stone of your choice!

Not only is this an amazing Christmas present but it’s also a fabulous experience for birthdays, hen-parties or work days out

3 - A  “Hallmark” Christmas special

We have a collection of sleek hallmarked bars and tie slides that features all the conventional assay marks in the large stamp size making them the key design feature. Each stamp depicts a different mark assuring the quality and maker of your pieces:

Makers mark – the makers mark is different for each company, ours is SS for Shetland Silvercraft

The metal quality – each piece gets 2 stamps certifying the quality of metal

  • our silver pieces get stamped with 925 and a lion stamp both assuring the piece is sterling sliver
  • gold gets stamped with the carat of gold 375 (9ct gold) or 750 (18ct gold) and with a crown stamp

Mark of origin – There are lots of different assay marks which are specific to each location of assay office; We get all our pieces tested in Edinburgh so our hallmarks feature the castle mark

Date letter – the final standard stamp features a different letter of the alphabet , each letter represents a different year this year it’s the letter Y.

Special Marks -There are only a very few special marks that have ever been used and they tend to be for big events like jubilees , coronations and the change of millennium. Each special stamp is only available for a limited period of time!  This year we have the special stamp for the Kings Coronation which features King Charles head within an oval shape. (This stamp is only available until the 31st December 2023)

Our hallmark pieces feature all of the 6 stamps in a minimalistic and chic design which can be upgraded to include a stone of your choice.
