Bespoke Terms & Conditions
1. Design Fee & Deposit
• A non-refundable £50 design fee is payable before drawings are created.
• If you proceed with the piece, this amount will be deducted from your final balance.
2. Design Process
• Drawings and design concepts remain the property of Shetland Jewellery until full payment has been made.
• We will provide up to 2 rounds of design revisions. Further revisions may incur an additional fee.
3. Timescales
• Once designs are approved, production usually takes around 4 weeks.
• Deadlines (e.g. weddings or birthdays) must be discussed in advance. While we always aim to meet them, timescales cannot be guaranteed due to the handmade nature of our work.
4. Recycled Metal
• If recycled metal is provided, it must be supplied before work begins.
• All metal will be tested for suitability; we cannot guarantee acceptance of every piece.
• Any metal found unsuitable will be returned.
5. Pricing & Payment
• A quote will be provided once the design is confirmed.
• A deposit of 50% is required to begin production, with the remaining balance payable on completion.
• All prices are inclusive of VAT
6. Cancellations & Refunds
• The £50 design fee is non-refundable.
• Once production has begun, deposits are non-refundable as costs are already incurred.
• Finished bespoke items cannot be returned or refunded, except in the case of manufacturing faults.
7. Guarantee
• Bespoke pieces are covered by our standard guarantee against manufacturing defects.
• This does not cover wear and tear, accidental damage, or misuse.
8. Ownership
• Shetland Jewellery retains copyright and design rights for all bespoke designs, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
