Hi! I'm Shannon, and I'm a jeweller at Shetland Jewellery. I've worked for the company for 7 years, and I've recently come back to work after having my lovely peerie lass, Willa.
Working life is very different now that she's around, but I'm so lucky that my job is flexible, so it fits in so well and I have a really good work–life balance.
On the days I work, Willa either goes to her lovely childminder, or if my husband is home from offshore, she gets to stay home with him. She loves to play with her Dad and its so nice to get videos and photos of what they get up to while I'm not there.
On my days off, we try to get out and about as much as possible, as Willa loves to socialise! She also loves going to see our horses. Willa's Shetland pony is called Aoife, and she is so sweet. She loves to be brushed, and Willa enjoys having a little sit on her when the weather is nice. We also love going to the play park and on playdates with her friends.
I'm so lucky to have a job that gives me such amazing opportunities to progress as a jeweller while also being around for Willa as much as possible.
She loves coming to the workshop to visit everyone and have a snack while everybody has their tea break. She even helped me sell a pair of Foula earrings last week — a future jeweller in the making! ❤️
