Sophie took over the ownership of Shetland Jewellery in 2023 after two decades training and working in the Weisdale workshop. As a celebration of this milestone, Sophie designed the Sól range. Sól being the norse name for Sunshine.

Inspired by her favourite flower, these joyful sunflower pieces celebrate warmth, light and colour. The larger pendant includes a hidden inscription on the reverse: “follow the sunshine” – a gentle reminder to seek brightness in everyday life. The pendant also slides freely along the chain, perfect for those who like their jewellery to be both playful and tactile.
The master pattern was lovingly cut by hand from silver sheet and saw pierced by hand, before being cast and brought to life with rich enamel colours set in resin.
The collection also includes dainty mini sunflower studs and sweet half-flower charms, ideal for stacking or sharing – think friendship bracelets with a sunshine twist.

Summer Sparkle: How to Keep Your Silver Jewellery Clean and Safe
Sunshine, sea dips and sandy picnics — we love summer, but silver jewellery doesn’t always feel the same! Heat, humidity, sweat, sunscreen, and saltwater can all take a toll on your favourite pieces.
Here’s how to keep your silver shining:
✨ Avoid wearing jewellery in the sea or pool – salt and chlorine can cause tarnish and damage over time.
✨ Apply lotions and sprays first – let sunscreen, perfume and moisturiser fully absorb before putting your jewellery on.
✨ Wipe it down – after a long day out, give your jewellery a quick clean with a soft cloth to remove sweat, oils, and product build-up.
✨ Store it safely – keep pieces in a cool, dry place (ideally in airtight bags or pouches) when not in use, especially on holiday.
A little TLC goes a long way to keeping your silver as bright as a Shetland summer day — even if those are rare!
