We’re so excited to share this year’s limited-edition Christmas tree decoration - our third one ever and inspired by our most popular collection: The Mirrie Dancers.
Last Christmas, on Boxing Day, Shetland was treated to one of the most spectacular aurora displays we’ve ever seen—bright, sweeping beams of colour dancing right across the night sky, visible from every corner of the isles.
The Mirrie Dancers collection has always been close to our hearts. It was the first Shetland Jewellery range to introduce colour, sparked by a cold enamelling course Sophie took back in 2011 at the Birmingham School of Jewellery with the brilliant Clare John. That experience opened up a whole new creative world for us.
So this year’s decoration felt like a natural extension of that story. We’ve created just 100 pieces, each one featuring a Viking galley sailing through stormy winter seas, journeying toward brighter days. It’s a tribute to our Norse heritage, our love of Up Helly Aa, and the magic of Shetland’s winter skies.
